I am a Master’s Candidate originally from Ohio and South Dakota, and attended the University of Arizona Online for my Bachelor's Degree. I graduated with a major in History and a minor in Political Science, Summa Cum Laude, in May 2025. For my Master’s Degree, I am continuing my studies concerning peonage and company towns during Jim Crow, a topic for which I have a paper published in the Footnotes journal from UA. I intend to use this knowledge as a base from which I will develop my thesis.   My experience outside of school has centered around my son while also managing my disabilities. My son recently turned six and has significant challenges due to autism and ADHD (while also being nonverbal). My experiences in raising a differently-abled child while completing my UA Online program for my Bachelor’s likewise encouraged me to include the effects of peonage upon individuals who had physical or mental challenges. I hope to use this information to further expand upon the myriad abuses perpetuated through Jim Crow and its intersectionality with plantation-based company towns.
