Olivia Kane is a Master’s student in the Division for Late Medieval and Reformation Studies. She is originally from Pella, Iowa, which is a town very focused on its own history, which helped to inspire her own love of the study. Her research is primarily on the late Middle Ages in the British Isles, with a great interest on the Scottish Wars of Independence. Her focus during the time period is on propaganda and roles of women, and how the two interact. Her undergraduate honor’s thesis focused on how the works of a secular prophet were used as propaganda on both sides of the Scottish Wars of Independence.
