May 16: Roger Nichols will give a paper entitled “The Wild West and Tourism", at the Maple Leaf and Eagle Conference hosted by the University of Helsinki, Finland.

May 23: Alison Futrell will be talking about “Sex and the Arena” as part of Pompeii After Hours at the Arizona Science Center in Phoenix, 7 pm.

May 25: Roger Nichols will give the keynote address entitled “Black Hawk’s Autobiography and Ethnic Cultural Identity,” at the Mapping Cultural Identities Conference at Dimitrie Cantemir Christian University in Bucharest, Romania.

May 26: Marco Macias will hold forth on Musical Folk Hero: The Legacy of Francisco ‘Pancho’ Villa’s Myth in Corridos; 1910-2010 at the Latin American Studies Association in Barcelona, Spain.

July 5: Katherine Morrissey will give a presentation on “Transborder Environmental Issues”, at the America-Institute in Munich.

October 4: Michael Brescia begins his 4-part series on Making (Historical) Sense of Mexico, in his ASM Master Classes, Old Main, Silver and Sage Room, 9:30-11:30 am.
