Michelle Berry

Dr. Michelle Berry is an assistant professor of History and Gender and Women's Studies. Dr. Berry's non-traditional academic and professional journey, marked by her dedication to teaching, community activism, and impactful research, embodies the spirit of excellence that this award represents. Dr. Berry defines herself, professionally, as a teacher-scholar who encourages engagement in comparative study, especially regarding the connections between the cultural and the political. Her most recent book, “Cow Talk: Work, Ecology, and Range Cattle Ranchers in the Postwar Mountain West” (University of Oklahoma Press, 2023) demonstrates that approach.
