Virtual Brown Bag Colloquium: Can the Dead Speak? Application of Oral History to Public History and "Events"

When

12:30 p.m., March 17, 2021

Where

Dr. Benjamin DuMontier, Alumni, Department of History at UArizona

March 17, 2021, at 12:30 PM

Drawing on his experience in the public sector, and examining open-access databases such as the Japanese American “DENSHO” Oral History website, Dr. DuMontier will facilitate a dialogue on how we as a society (and we as historians) narrate so-called events. We will also discuss the relationship of events to change as oral history constructs that relationship, using starting points raised by historian Alessandro Portelli and other scholars.
