Sounds of History: Folk

Sounds of History is hosting another special event! Last year, we celebrated Jazz and had over 300 people attend. This year, to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the 1965 Newport Folk Festival (when Dylan went electric) and the deep roots of folk music in civil rights movements across the world, we present Sounds of History: Folk. 

 

On April 19th from 2-6 pm at downtown Borderland Brewery, our very own Kevin Gosner, Tyina Steptoe, and our colleague from the School of Music, Jennie Gubner will be the featured speakers, and there will be lots of wonderful music from 4 bands!

 

Hope you can come for some or all of it. Proceeds benefit the Tucson Kitchen Musicians Association's Folk Festival.

 

Admission: $10 donation to TKMA at the gate to support the 4oth annual Tucson Folk Festival.
