About Maria Concepcion Marquez-Sandoval

Master's Degree in Art History at the National Autonomous University of Mexico -UNAM-, 2012. Fields of interest: Cultural History Ethnomusicology, Art History, Gender Studies and Mexican Military History. Currently working in her dissertation Army Wives & Mexican Soldiers: 1936- 2016, a study about the transformation within the traditionally seclusive Mexican Army that has allowed Women into the Military Academy and broadened their acces for higher ranks. It also analyses the role of army wives in their husband's career, particularly officers, through life stories and official sources.
