About Ana Ghoreishian
Ana Ghoreishian is a PhD candidate in Middle Eastern History. Her research interests include the construction of gendered identities, the reconfigurations of patriarchies in the context of contemporary Middle East, especially as it pertains to Iran and Turkey, Women’s rights movements in Iran, and contemporary Iranian literature. Her dissertation will focus on the reproduction of gendered hierarchical relationships and the resistance of the left in the context of the 1979 Revolution through exploring interdisciplinary methodologies including oral history, social memory and connected histories.
