About Alex Nuñez

Alex Nuñez is a graduate student originally from Chandler, Arizona. His area of interest surrounds United States History with an emphasis on analyzing sport as a vehicle of cultural expression and interpretation for ethnic and cultural communities in 19th and 20th century America. His professional experiences in the field have included serving as a Park Ranger with the National Park Service at the Mary McLeod Bethune Council House National Historic Site in Washington, DC, as well as a handful of roles in public programming with various museums, including the Smithsonian National Museum of American History. He is also interested in the roles and methodologies of public history and the interpretation of history into nontraditional media formats, such as documentary, narrative, and tools for education.
