Ph.D. Student, Latin American History

Dissertation: “Sovereignty Unbound: US Congressional Militarization of the US-Mexico, Mexico-Guatemala, and Guatemala-Honduras border, 1972-2016”

I am a PhD candidate in the Latin American History program, with a minor field in Anthropology. My dissertation research explores the recent history (1986-2016) of US militarization of the US-Mexico border, the Mexico-Guatemala border, and the Guatemala-Honduras border.

Through both my service in the US Army, as well as employment in the defense contracting sector, I participated in US militarization of the North Korean-South Korean border (Korean DMZ), the US-Mexico border, and the Iraq-Iran border.
