Dr. Julia Clancy-Smith publications

Dr. Julia Clancy-Smith has published a book titled “Exemplary Women and Sacred Journeys: Women and Gender in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam From Late Antiquity to the Eve of Modernity.” [Originally published in vol. I of Women's History in Global Perspective, ed. Bonnie G. Smith, 92-144. Urbana: University of Illinois Press, 2004 which is a 3-volume series] This 52-page essay has now been published as a separate pamphlet by the American Historical Association.

Dr. Clancy-Smith gave a presented “Crimes of the Heart: Women, Gender, and Legal Pluralism in Pre-Colonial Tunisia,” paper given at the annual meeting of the American Historical Association, Philadelphia, 2006 and a conference paper titled "Exemplary Women and Sacred Journeys: Teaching Women, Gender, and Religion, Roundtable on Women's and Gender History in Global Perspective", annual meeting of the American Historical Association, Philadelphia, 2006.
