March 8th, 11:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., in the UA Student Union BookStore, Lower Level

The traumatic events of the Holocaust as seen through the eyes of children are presented in musical settings from chamber music to musical theater. Dr. Susan Crane (History) examines the concept of options in an unsettled world and the options open to the “choiceless.” Music will include "I Never Saw Another Butterfly," a song cycle based on poetry by Jewish children who lived in the Theresienstadt ghetto and "I Remember," set to the writings of Anne Frank. Presented in collaboration with UApresents’ performance of “Quartet for the End of Time.”
