Erma Bombeck: At Wits End

Tuesday, November 6, 2018 - 10:00am

This season Arizona Theatre Company (ATC) is putting on the play Erma Bombeck: At Wits End. This play is about a longtime Arizona resident, wife and mom Erma Bombeck, who became a best-selling author and hard hitting journalist while raising three kids. She was a champion of the Equal Rights Amendment when it was passed by the Senate in 1972 and sent to the states for ratification. She, along with Betty Friedan and Gloria Steinem, toured all across the United States to ratify this amendment. Unfortunately, the amendment did not end up getting ratified as these incredible women fell three states short of ratification. While becoming an advocate of this amendment, she also wrote the column "At Wits End" (about being a housewife and mother) for thirty-six newspapers around the country three times a week .

This incredible woman's story is laid out in this play and ATC is having a special student matinee on November 6th at 10 am! If you would like to find out more information about the play or the matinee and ticket prices please feel free to email Jasmine Roth at
